Lima is a beutiful city with over 2,000 years of history with many sights from the days of the Incas and the Spanish Colonial empire.
Don't miss seeing two famous Inca cermonial centers, “Huaca Pucllana” and “Huaca Huallamarca”, in the residential district of San Isidro. Visit the main square and see the Presidential and Municipal Palaces, two immense beautiful buildings. Nearby is the Lima Cathedral and Monasterio San Francisco, which is home to the large underground catacombs said to connect the monastery with nearby churches. This was first major church to be built in Lima and also houses a library which holds some of Peru's oldest and rarest books.
Don't miss the gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean from Love Park (Parque del Amor). Visit the the nearby port town of Callao and the Palomino Islands.
