Budapest was two cities at one time on opposite sides of the Danube River. Buda has the Matthias Church, Citadel and Royal Palace to visit. On the Pest side of the Danube, with more places to visit including the Parliament building.
Construction was finished on the Parliament building in 1902. It was the largest parliamentary building in the world when completed. There are 691 rooms and 12 miles of staircases and is topped by an elegant dome soaring 226 feet.
Don't miss the Opera House and St. Stephen's Basilica, Heroes' Square and City Park, home of the Vajdahunyad Castle complex built for the world Expo in 1896.
